Android users can now subscribe in-app

Since money is the only thing developers care about (Sarcasm!), they can now siphon your cash using in-app subscriptions.  Alongside carrier billing and in-app purchases, it’s looking like Android’s “Play” is gaining great payment features.  This is great news for your farming and fighting games!

It’s not all bad, of course, games won’t be the only ones using this.  It also opens up options for services, and publications.  There’s even an API allowing for subscriptions beyond the walls of Google Play and your Android device.

The first app to support it?  Glu Mobile’s own Frontline Commando. Soon enough, you’ll be able to subscribe to Spotify without leaving the comfort of, well, anywhere you can use your phone. If you have Google Play 3.5 or higher, you should have subscription access now.
